Mom's Diabetes Cured!!

Archana Rajesh lives in Bangalore and used to work in the Software Industry, until a couple of years ago.

Around May 2013, Archana’s mom was recommended to do a blood test, while doctors investigated her cough and cold problem. Being a disciplined person all her life, with a regular exercise regime, measured eating habits, Archana’s mother and her extended family were actually shocked that she was declared a diabetic !!! Her mom worried about having to perpetually rely on diabetic medication for the rest of her life.

During this time, Archana, working with the WQ Coaches, was able to refine her mother’s diet and incorporate necessary lifestyle changes.

She highly appreciated how the WQ coaches took time out to explain the reason behind her concern and also assured her that making these changes would actually reverse the condition.

Within 6 months, her mom’s glucose levels became normal. Advised by her consulting doctor, she still continued medication for a whole year, until in November 2015 she was declared non-diabetic. Her blood glucose levels remained normal for straight 1.5 years.

Archana’s mom was overjoyed, as her own father too had been diabetic and there was a long history of diabetes running in her family and all of them were on lifelong medication. 

Archana fondly recollects her mom’s jubilation on being able to conquer diabetes. She is really thankful to the WQ Community who made it possible for her.

From HBA1C of 6 to 4.7

Michele and Ryan have been living in Bangalore since 19 years now. She used to work as an HR, until a couple of years ago she chose to become an entrepreneur.

Michele used to get her annual blood checks done on a regular basis. In December 2018, her HBA1C score was 6. As a result, she used to freeze, and it became apparent that she would eventually become a diabetic, as her extended family on both sides of her parents had a history of diabetes.

Subsequently, she started exercising from April 2019 onwards and counseled with Unna from the Wellness Quotient team to bring about the recommended changes in her diet as well.

Within 1.5 months of following through on this health plan, her HBA1C came down to 4.7

I "used" to have Diabetes

I'm Shanker Srivastava and I was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years back. These were my readings when I was tested, Fasting Sugar - 330, which is really high and body weight ~105kg. I personally knew that my sedentary lifestyle, bad eating habits & heredity were the key reasons for my diabetes. I felt very lethargic, very tired & distant eye vision was also impacted. The 1st thing that came to my mind was to rush to an endocrinologist.

The doctor immediately put me on Insulin for 10 days, and after that to start with the medication. She advised me to be regular on medicine and to have a strict watch on my diet. It was a very difficult phase of my life as there was no direction or guidance on how to come out of this problem. I received mixed messages about diabetes from magazines, newspapers, friends, family, and yes, even health professionals. Everyone told different things to do, but no one was 100% sure.

Deep inside I used to think that there must be some way to come out of it. I was open and willing to try different options but scared of it and scared of failing too.

The community of people at Wellness Quotient came into my life as a blessing through one of our friends Akash & Shilpa. Today I’m delighted because my glucose levels are under control & I’m out of any kind of medication. My fasting sugar reading now is between 100-120. Because of the shared experiences and the combined knowledge of an entire community, I understood for the first time why I’m diabetic and what I could potential do to completely come out of it. My doctor who used to treat me for diabetes was surprised to see my results and the energy levels in me. Now I am fully energetic, long-distance eye vision is normal, no tiredness. I can eat sweets once in ~10-15 days still keeping my sugar levels intact.

I came to understand the relationship between weight loss and diabetes. I learned to adopt a healthy eating habit with optimum natural supplementation & physical activity every day. I put my effort & dedication to lose 20kg weight , which in turn helped to maintain my glucose levels. Sometimes shared experiences work better than professional advice. That’s been my learning.
