Making Pregnancy a Cakewalk

Ramya used to work in IT for 6+ years and now she has taken a break due to childbirth.

Pregnancy was a big horror story for her primarily because of her colleagues’ unpleasant experiences. Some of them developed thyroid during pregnancy, someone had developed a back pain while few others have put on extra weight and could never get back to their pre-pregnancy state.

However, Ramya wanted to remain in a good shape without having to compromise on her health during pregnancy. When she discussed her concern with a friend, she introduced Ramya to a Wellness Coach. The first thing the coach mentioned was “Well, pregnancy is not a disease, rather its the most beautiful stage of any woman’s life. You might never get such a period back in your life and so you should thoroughly enjoy it”.

Subsequently, Ramya started understanding different aspects of good health such as diet, exercise, role of supplements to fill the gap in nutrients etc. As a result of proactive counseling from her coach, Ramya’s pregnancy was very smooth. She did not suffer from any morning sickness and other ailments and even danced in an event in her 8th month of pregnancy. She conceived at 29 years of age, had a normal delivery and her baby was a healthy boy of 3.17 kgs at birth.

She believes, this was possible only because there was someone to help her all through her journey. Post pregnancy, she could feed her child without any formula milk for 1 year and after she weaned her child, in a matter of just 6 months, she lost 12 kgs of weight and thus could achieve her pre-pregnancy weight.

Ramya advises that the best way to achieve good health is to analyze our diet, figure out the gaps which are there in our nutrition & make necessary lifestyle changes. Then find a health coach who can help us to achieve all of these with their strong domain knowledge and can handhold us to a better state of health.
