Can diabetes be reversed?
Ask most diabetics or their family members this question, and they would answer no.
But ask the same to Madhur, and the answer would be a resounding yes!
Like many others, Madhur was busy climbing the corporate ladder. Long working hours, erratic sleep patterns, "eat-on-the-go" diet and stress were part of the package, obviously.
Nothing seemed out of place, since most people around him were having the same lifestyle. But the real shocker came to him a few years back when his blood work showed high blood sugar levels!
"Inspite of having a family history of diabetes, I never imagined it could happen to me!", recollects Madhur.
He visited the doctors and was initiated into tablets and diet restrictions. It worked for a while, but after every few visits, medicine dosage would increase.
Deep down, Madhur knew something was not adding up. There had to be a better approach to handle this. Continuous increase of medicines indicate slowing the rate of damage, not curing it.
He tried various things - special/funny diets, avoiding sugars, starving, workouts, etc. They would work to some extent, but things would soon return to as it was before.
His HbA1c was hovering around 10 to 12 inspite of medications when he got introduced to Wellness Quotient. With collective experience from this community, he could make required lifestyle changes which were sustainable and would lead to results.
Within a few months, he was able to bring down his HbA1c to 6.3 and is working to make it even better.
"For someone who was told by everyone that diabetes is irreversible, this was a pleasant surprise," says Madhur.
Since then, Madhur says he is on a mission to help fellow diabetics and others with lifestyle disorders to reverse their condition!
(Wellness Quotient proudly presents one of their WQ Champion Madhur's journey as yet another hope for many out there who want to achieve wellness but are uncertain if they can too!)
