Cheating Dialysis - A Father’s Journal
Shridhar’s dad met with an accident 8 years back in Bangalore. It was not a major one but he developed an annoying back pain as a result.
Mr. Murthy then underwent a CT Scan & MRI, which revealed that one of his kidney is small and compromised and had to pretty much depend on only one functioning kidney.
Subsequently, he suffered from many health challenges such as digestion issues, continuous bloating & also faced issues in stool and urine discharge. Shridhar visited few well-known nephrologists around Bangalore, but they encouraged his dad to get onto allopathic medicines. He was reluctant as he knew it would affect his father's kidneys for the worse in the long term.
In the following months, Mr. Murthy gained weight, he couldn’t walk properly and his bowel movements was even more irregular. That was a worrisome situation for his family.
That was the time when Shridhar’s wife got in touch with one of her aunt who is a practicing nutritionist. Shridhar visited her, who in turn introduced him to Amravathi over a call.
Shridhar could realize over the first call itself that Amravathi could connect the dots & was able to make Shridhar realize the root cause of the problem was Mr. Murthy's kidney itself and not because of any digestion issues. He underwent a medical checkup to determine his creatinine & potassium levels & they turned out to be very high, almost on the verge of Dialysis.
Eventually, Amravathi changed the cooking process in Shridhar's family, for e.g. how the vegetables are supposed to be boiled, how to do zero oil cooking and also instructed about the methods of food consumption. Shridhar retorts that in the last so many years none of the doctors actually pointed out about protein exclusion in his father’s diet which was necessary due to the high creatinine levels but Amravathi could rectify it immediately. She also got his father onto a complete vegetarian diet & that’s how slowly the potassium & creatinine levels came down in a span of 60-70 days. The creatinine levels actually reduced from 1.72 to 1.24 - which is in the normal range. It was a WOW feeling.
Shridhar & his family has a high level of faith on the Wellness Quotient Community now and is especially grateful to Amravathi for all the guidance provided by her.
Mr. Murthy is now enjoying his retired life to the fullest.
